BOTOX for Quick and Easy Wrinkle Reduction

When you notice the first wrinkle ever on your face, it may not be the best experience. It usually catches a person off guard. They’re looking at themselves in the mirror while getting ready for the day and realize that something is not right. It can be heart-wrenching because wrinkles are a sign that you are getting older. So, what you do? Do you ignore the wrinkle and wait for it to bring along more of its friends, or do you take steps to smooth out the appearance of the wrinkles and have more confidence in the way that you look? Most people opt to smooth out the wrinkles by using treatments like BOTOX®.

What Is BOTOX®?

BOTOX® is an unbelievably powerful tool. It has helped many people quickly and easily reduce the number of dynamic wrinkles that they have on their face. Dynamic wrinkles are wrinkles that a person gets on their face when they make some form of facial expression, such as smiling, frowning or laughing. They appear on a person’s forehead, on the sides of their mouth or around their eyes. With time, if they are not treated, dynamic wrinkles can become permanent. They can crease your skin, making you look older than you feel.

How Does It Work?

BOTOX® treats dynamic wrinkles by addressing the source of the problem. The reason why you have dynamic wrinkles is due to the contraction of the muscles underneath your face. This popular injectable addresses these facial contractions by interfering with the signal that is sent by your nervous system to the affected muscles.

In the days following your injections, you’ll notice that when you smile or frown, your facial muscles are not contracting as hard as they did before treatment. You’ll also notice that your skin starts to look and feel smoother. This is because as the muscles underneath your skin relax, the skin above your muscles starts to relax as well. The end result is that you have a younger and more attractive appearance.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

In order to benefit from BOTOX® treatments, you need to have the type of wrinkles that it is designed to treat. These are dynamic wrinkles, not static wrinkles. Second, you need to be free of muscle or skin ailments that would impede BOTOX® from doing its job. For example, you should be free of any conditions that impair your nerve functioning.
